Helping to Raise Money for Macmillan Cancer Support

With well over a month to go before the 4Fatblokesonbikes reach the starting line of the Etape Caledonia we’ve got a special announcement – the team have already raised a whopping £9,405.
This is an incredible achievement in such a short time.
It’s a testament to our esteemed friend and colleague James and the strength of feeling for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity which has touched the lives of so many of our colleagues, friends and families.
Macmillan is the UK’s leading cancer supporter charity, giving personal, one to one care and support to thousands of people every day. Cancer can affect anyone and receiving a cancer diagnosis can turn life upside down in a single moment. The incredible Macmillan nurses, doctors and cancer experts help people make sense of their diagnosis, guide them through treatment and provide help and support on every aspect of life including physical, emotional and financial.
Every £1000 raised funds a Macmillan nurse for over 34 hours, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support. So, let’s get a final attack on and push that total as far as we can, it’s not far to go to hit that magic £10,000 total – it’s a tough challenge, but our lads have got what it takes.
With 85 miles of rolling hills, forests and even a couple of lochs to attack before they hit the demanding, twisting climb of Mt Schiehallion and that all important finishing line– surely, that’s got to be worth a few quid!
To Derek, Piers, Bozza and Simon – Best of luck from the whole Macintyre Family, we know you’ll do us proud.
Our very own Piers says:
“We are all determined to complete the course and raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Support. Doing an amazing job in their support of James; every penny pledged will go directly to the charity.”
If you’re able to donate, head over to the team’s JustGiving page and give what you can. Don’t forget to gift aid your donation too.
